Mosrite "The Ventures Model" Super Custom '65 Reissue, Early-to-Mid 1990s (Made
This Mosrite "The Ventures Model" Super Custom '65 reissue was built by the Kurokumo factory in Japan, a faithful recreation of the original 1965 surf-era design. It's finished in Vintage White with a 3-ply black pickguard, and this one has the black pinstripe edge running around the body carve, a detail Kurokumo kept for its higher Super Custom tier to highlight the German Carve.
The pickups are the early-90s unbranded black-cover style, which came before the branded white-text covers used on later runs. The sand-textured Vibramute vibrato pairs with a roller-saddle bridge for tuning stability, and the neck has an ultra-slim profile with low frets and a zero fret ahead of the nut. Pots are smooth, the neck is straight, and the Vibramute operates smoothly.
There's no external serial number or internal pencil stamp in the neck pocket or cavity, which is typical of Kurokumo's premium batch production lines, so the exact year can't be pinned down and this one is dated to the early-to-mid 1990s by its features.
