Available now is a Yamaha SGV-800 in Sparkle Blue from the Blue Jeans series. This model is a modern reissue of the 1960s Flying Samurai designs, produced between approximately 2000 and 2006. While Yamaha is a Japanese company, the SGV line was built at their high-specification Kaohsiung factory in Taiwan, known for exceptional quality control.

 

The SGV-800 is the premium version of the SGV-300. Features include a solid alder body with the iconic Samurai offset double-cutaway shape, a bolt-on maple neck with distinctive binding, and a rosewood fingerboard. The original Yamaha bridge uses sealed ball bearings at the fulcrum for smooth vibrato action.
