Yamaha SGV-800 | Sparkle Blue | Flying Samurai

The SGV-800 is Yamaha's Blue Jeans series homage to its cult classic 1960s Flying Samurai, built between roughly 2000 and 2006 at Yamaha's high-specification Kaohsiung factory in Taiwan. This Sparkle Blue example is the premium SGV-800 spec, with a solid alder body in the offset Samurai double-cutaway shape, a bolt-on maple neck with distinctive binding, and Alnico V single-coils voiced in a P-90 or soap-bar style for a biting surf and rock tone. The original Yamaha vibrato bridge uses sealed ball bearings at the fulcrum for smooth action, and Sperzel locking tuners keep it stable through use. It's near-mint and structurally perfect, recently given a professional setup.
