Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary, Black Beauty

A 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary, the Black Beauty. Mahogany body with a carved maple top and a three-piece mahogany neck, the combination behind the Les Paul's trademark sustain and thick, warm low end. The original T-Top humbuckers (stamped Patent No. 2,737,842) are still doing the Lord's work, long sustain and a warm moan that just won't quit, the kind of thing that makes you forget what key you were in. Gold-plated hardware throughout, including the original ABR-1 bridge and tailpiece, a replacement set of gold Grover Kidney-button tuners, and the classic black 'witch hat' knobs.
At the 15th fret sits a mother-of-pearl "TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY" inlay, twenty years since '54 and the first time Gibson ever threw itself a party.
