The AC4TV is a flexible low-wattage tube amp that delivers classic VOX British tone at any volume. The built-in power attenuator lets you crank the amp for natural tube breakup at bedroom levels. The Class A circuit retains the distinctive EL84 character of the original 1961 AC4. The tone control rolls off highs when needed.

Sound and Tone
Unmistakably VOX with distinctive British top-end. The EL84 power tube provides chime and harmonics. Power scaling allows natural tube breakup at 1W or 0.25W for bedroom use. At 4W, the amp stays clean to around 10 o'clock on volume, then moves into light overdrive. At higher gain settings, expect classic rock drive textures that clean up with guitar volume.
 
Controls and Connectivity
The three-way OP Level selector gives you 4W, 1W or 0.25W output. The Volume control adjusts gain and overdrive. The Tone control rolls off highs for darker sounds. An external speaker jack (16 ohm only) allows connection to extension cabinets; when used, the internal speaker is disconnected.
 
Condition
Great condition. Perfect working order. No marks on the cream vinyl.
 
Background
The original VOX AC4 was introduced in 1961 and famously used by The Beatles. The AC4TV reissue was launched in 2009 and produced until 2019. The "TV" designation refers to the retro cabinet design first used on 1958 AC15 models. The AC4TV uses a modern cascading 12AX7 preamp circuit for higher gain potential than the original 1960s AC4.
