Sound and Tone
The hollow spruce-top construction and Staple humbuckers are generally associated with the warm, woody, percussive "thump" that made this style of violin bass distinctive in the 1960s — a noticeably different character to a solid-body bass.

Feel and Playability
Two-piece '62-profile neck with a rock-solid, stable heel joint and low, comfortable action. Rosewood fingerboard with no fretwear. Very light at 2.1kg.

Condition
Exceptionally clean overall. Body, neck and headstock show no major surface abrasions, finish checking, or belt-buckle rash. The spruce top is immaculate with natural figuring and cross-grain silking on the left-hand side. Chrome hardware shows light natural oxidation, with slight tarnish on the pickup covers. The original pickguard has been removed and stored in the case to prevent finish damage from off-gassing — small factory mounting holes remain visible on the side of the body. The plastic heel cap is currently missing. All electronics are fully functional. The original hard case is structurally sound and fully functional, with slight discolouration inside.
