1979 Fender Stratocaster for sale. Made in Fullerton, California. Solid Northern Ash body. Hard rock maple neck with walnut skunk stripe. Medium C profile. 7.25" radius, 21 medium frets. Three original single-coil pickups with grey-bottom flatwork bobbins. All-black factory plastics. Original hard case and paperwork included. 4.2kg.
 
This is a CBS-era Stratocaster, built with the oversized headstock and 3-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt adjustment that characterised Fender's late-1970s production. The serial (S935705) carries the S9 prefix used around this period — Fender's decal and parts stock overlapped across adjacent years at the time, so this places it in the late-1970s window rather than pinning down an exact month. All hardware and parts are original, and the guitar is sold with its original hard case and factory paperwork.

Sound and Tone
The ash body and one-piece maple neck are the combination generally associated with the brighter, more resonant end of vintage Stratocaster tone, with strong sustain. The single-coil pickups deliver classic Strat clarity and bite.
 
Feel and Playability
Medium C neck profile with a 7.25" radius. Zero fretwear on the original frets. The 3-bolt Micro-Tilt neck joint allows neck angle adjustment without removing the neck. At 4.2kg it sits on the heavier side, in keeping with the solid ash bodies used in this era.
 
Condition
Exceptionally clean vintage condition. No dents, chips or notable blemishes on the body's top or sides. Slight roughness to the touch on the underside of the body only — cosmetic, not structural. Neck is pristine with zero fret wear. All original hardware, showing only minor natural oxidation consistent with its age.
