Fender Japan Aerodyne Jazz Bass AJB-58, Gloss Black (2002–2004)
A Fender Japan Aerodyne Jazz Bass, model AJB-58, finished in gloss black with a matching headstock face. The body is basswood with an arched, carved top and cream binding, giving it a lighter, more contoured shape than Fender's standard Jazz Bass slab body. P/J pickup configuration: a split single-coil Precision Bass pickup in the neck position and a single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge, each on its own volume control plus a shared master tone.
Maple neck with a slim C profile, dark rosewood fingerboard at the standard 7.25" radius, 20 vintage-style frets, and a 1.5" nut width. Smoked chrome hardware throughout: open-gear tuners and a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge.
Great structural and functional shape overall. Minor marks and some surface scratching on the front face, with scuffing visible across the back, sides and bottom edge from handling. The neck is clean and comfortable, the fretboard shows no fret wear, and the headstock has a small chip in the lacquer. All hardware is in good working order.
