Fender '62 Reissue Stratocaster (Made in Japan) | 1993
Built at Fujigen Gakki as a meticulous recreation of a 1962 original, this '62 Reissue Stratocaster carries the period-correct details that make these early Japanese reissues so well regarded: a thick rosewood "slab" fingerboard, a vintage 6-screw tremolo bridge, and the gold "spaghetti" logo on the headstock. The neck itself is pencil-dated December 1992, though the guitar likely didn't leave the factory until 1993 — not unusual for the run.

The alder body wears a classic 3-Tone Sunburst nitrocellulose finish, paired with a maple neck in a comfortable slim-to-medium vintage "C" profile. The dark rosewood slab board has a 7.25" vintage radius and 21 low-profile frets with aged dot inlays, and it's finished with a period-correct 3-ply white pickguard on the vintage 11-screw layout. Three Japanese Vintage single coils run through a 5-way selector for the full range of in-between Strat tones, backed by a vintage 6-screw tremolo bridge with stamped steel saddles and Gotoh tuners.
Condition is excellent for a 30-year-old nitro-finished guitar: the neck and fingerboard are immaculate with zero fretwear, and the body shows only honest handling — a small cosmetic nick on the back, a few minor dents on the lower front face, and one distinct impact dent on the bottom-right side. All hardware and electronics are fully functional, with only light patina.
