Burny RLJ-55 "Rock 'n' Roll Version", 1988 (Made in Japan)
This 1988 Burny RLJ-55 is a stone-cold killer, with the factory ink-stamp serial number visible inside the pickup cavity. The neck has a beautifully chunky, fat vintage profile that's impossible not to fall in love with. It's solid mahogany, but still super lightweight and resonant, and it rings like a bell even before you plug it in.
Don't let the single pickup fool you: this guitar is an absolute sonic shape-shifter. The original Japanese "dog-ear" P-90 is the ultimate secret sauce, sitting right in that mythical sweet spot where it's brighter and snappier than a muddy humbucker, but thicker, fatter and meatier than a standard Fender single-coil.
The guitar has minimal fret wear and the body is in great condition, with just a few minor surface marks on the finish, still in exceptional shape for its age. Don't miss out on this one, it won't stick around for long.
