Lovely vintage 12-string Yamaha acoustic from 1969. A real piece of history this, going all the way back to the early days of Yamaha's acoustic craftsmanship. This 'Red Label' FG-230 was the first 12-String acoustic guitar that Yamaha ever made.
Featuring a Spruce body with Mahogany back/sides, rosewood fretboard with dot position markers. Appears to be all original. The tone of this is simply lovely...warm and wonderful, the generations of aging timber providing to this beautiful tibre.
For a guitar that is 55 years old it’s in good condition. As part of its setup the bridge was shaved down to lower the action. There are a fair amount of blemishes and dings are present all over the body. Wear present on the back of the neck.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
At Guitar Garage our focus is to refurbish and restore all guitars to the highest standard. Low action and playability is important to us. Our philosophy is "A guitar that plays well, sells well".
