Built at the PRS factory in Stevensville, Maryland. The McCarty Soapbar is a Core-series PRS from the mid-2000s. It combines a thick mahogany back for sustain with P-90 pickups for vintage bite. The Wide-Fat neck profile is chunky and comfortable. This example is in excellent condition with no fret wear.

Sound and Tone
Seymour Duncan P-90s deliver fat, punchy tone with single-coil clarity. The thick mahogany back adds warmth and sustain. The maple top adds snap and articulation.
 
Feel and Playability
Wide-Fat neck profile fills the hand. Rosewood fingerboard with no fretwear. Set neck construction. Lightweight 3.5kg.
 
Condition
Excellent. Minimal signs of gentle handling. Flame maple top and mahogany back have minor surface scratching. One small nick on bottom back edge. Nickel hardware has slight natural oxidation. Mahogany neck is clean. Rosewood fingerboard has no fretwear. Headstock is clean with handwritten serial number.
 
Background
The McCarty model was introduced in 1994 to honour PRS co-founder Ted McCarty, a former Gibson president. The Soapbar variant replaced humbuckers with P-90s, offering a more vintage-voiced alternative. The Wide-Fat neck and thick mahogany back are signature features of this model. Core-series PRS guitars are considered the company's flagship production line.
