Mozztronics DD-1 Damo Drive (Sexy Beast) Low Gain Drive Pedal
5 clipping modes. Tone control voicing. Takes the ice pick out.
The Mozztronics DD-1 Damo Drive (Sexy Beast) is a low gain drive pedal using the classic architecture of clipping diodes around an op amp. We included 5 different clipping modes as standard.
This is based on the Durham Sexdrive, loved by country players for taking the ice pick out of their guitars.
The secret is in the tone control and the mode switch. There is no "mid hump" like that other pedal has. The tone control is perfect for taking the brittle edge out of single coil pickups into bright amps. Simply turning the gain down on other pedals will not sound like this one.

Controls
GAIN controls the gain in the clipping stage

Clipping Modes
| Position | Mode | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hard clipping | Aggressive, saturated drive |
| 2 | Asymmetrical medium | Balanced, dynamic breakup |
| 3 | Heavily asymmetrical soft | Smooth, compressed feel |
| 4 | Mozztronics special | Unique voicing—try it |
| 5 | No clipping | Clean boost mode (SRV style) |
Position 5 removes all clipping, allowing you to use the DD-1 as a boost, similar to how Stevie Ray Vaughan used his heavily modified green pedal.
