Available now is a rare 1977 K. Yairi DY-41, a standout example from the "Golden Era" of Japanese luthiery. Hand-built in the legendary Yairi workshop under the supervision of Kazuo Yairi, this DY-41 is a dreadnought model from the upper tier of the Yairi lineup. It is regarded by collectors for its materials and tonal character that rivals high-end American counterparts from the same period.
This instrument features a solid Sitka spruce top that has aged over 45 years, resulting in a rich, honey-coloured patina and a deeply resonant voice. The back and sides are crafted from high-grade Indian rosewood, offering the classic dreadnought combination of crystalline highs and a defined low end.
The neck is hand-carved from mahogany with a comfortable, rounded profile and is capped with a premium ebony fingerboard. Ornate abalone hexagon inlays and matching abalone purfling give this guitar a high-end aesthetic.
