Gretsch Anniversary 6125 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar | 1962 Two-Tone Green

Made in USA. Single Hi-Lo'Tron pickup. Semi-hollow maple body. Original case. Includes palm mute.

The Gretsch Anniversary guitars were introduced in 1958–1959 to celebrate Gretsch's 75th anniversary as a guitar maker. The 6125 designation refers to the single-pickup Anniversary model in Two-Tone finishes, most famously in Smoke Green (also called Two-Tone Green). These are classic semi-hollow electric guitars with vintage style and tone.

The Anniversary series was designed as a more affordable alternative to flagship models like the famed 6120 Chet Atkins, but still with Gretsch tone and style. The 6125 was offered in Two-Tone Green and later Two-Tone Tan finishes, with earlier versions using Filter'Tron humbuckers before moving to Hi-Lo'Tron single-coils in the 1960s.

This 1962 example features the later Hi-Lo'Tron pickup configuration and retains its original case.

Sound and Tone

Gretsch Anniversary guitars are known for a warm, articulate semi-hollow tone with natural resonance and snap. The single Hi-Lo'Tron pickup delivers classic Gretsch character that suits rockabilly, blues, jazz, country, and vintage rock. The single pickup gives a focused, woody sound with less output than dual humbuckers, but plenty of clarity and mids.

Feel and Playability

With a modest 24.5 inch scale and vintage neck profile, these guitars feel comfortable and smooth to play. Many players enjoy the light touch and expressive dynamics available from the single pickup setup and semi-hollow design.
