Fender Stratocaster - USA - 1974 - Black

Hailing from 1974, we have a great Stratocaster in what appears to be its original black finish. It’s a real glimpse into Fender’s past with a timeless 70s look, 3-bolt neck, big headstock with a bold CBS logo, and a bullet truss rod. A great players-grade guitar with a moderate amount of cosmetic wear but it has been well loved in its life. It an excellent playing guitar even all these years later, with a great feel and awesome action.
 
Featuring an alder body with a maple neck. This neck feels great, with a nice feeling profile. Pickups are all original with the original 3-way selector switch. 2-tone 1-volume controls. One of the tone knobs has been replaced. It sounds great with that stratty cluck that we love. Original 3-ply white scratch plate. 
 
Overall in great condition. A fair amount of wear is present around the guitar’s body. Mainly from case rash, with some very minor checking to the finish on the back of the body. Guitar has had a re-fret and is now fitted with jumbos, frets show some wear. Finish has come off slightly at the neck joint. Minor indents in the fretboard from playwear. Minor playwear in the lacquer on the edge of the fretboard, pretty normal for a guitar that has been well played and loved. We presume that the half of the backplate that was cut, was to allow for easier restringing. 
 
If you’ve been looking for a new obsession, this Stratocaster is certainly one worth considering.
 
Comes with non-original Fender G&G hard-case. With the original tremolo arm.
