Available now is a rare and soulful Fender JB-62-FL, a factory fretless '62 reissue that captures the iconic Jaco Pastorius vibe. Bearing the "Crafted in Japan" decal and serial number P086425, this bass was manufactured at the Dyna Gakki plant between 1999 and 2002. It is a professional-grade instrument that delivers the "mwah" and expressive slide capabilities associated with high-quality Japanese-made fretless basses.
This Jazz Bass has been upgraded with a Basslines pickup in the bridge position and an Aria Pro II pickup in the neck position. The original pickups are not included. The vintage-style spiral saddles and reverse tuners remain, giving it a premium feel and authentic look.
The neck features a slim "C" profile that is synonymous with the early 1960s era, making it incredibly fast and comfortable to play. The lined rosewood fingerboard offers clear visual reference for fretless playing.

The slim "C" profile neck is fast and comfortable. The lined fretless fingerboard offers clear visual reference for fretless playing. The neck is straight, truss rod works as intended, and frets have plenty of life.

Good used condition as pictured. Some finish wear and tear from basic use. Light wear to the fingerboard as pictured, but nothing that impacts playability. The neck is straight, truss rod works as intended, and frets have plenty of life. Electronics have been serviced.
Background
The JB-62-FL is a factory fretless version of the classic 1962 Jazz Bass reissue, produced by Fender Japan at the Dyna Gakki factory between 1999 and 2002. This model was an unofficial "Jaco" style Jazz Bass. Fretless versions are considerably rarer than their fretted counterparts.
