Danelectro '59 Modified DC-59M 2009 - Black
This 2009 Danelectro '59 Modified comes in black with the shorthorn double-cutaway body the brand's known for. The hollow Masonite construction gives it a natural, airy resonance, with great access all the way up the neck.
Two Alnico lipstick single-coils, wired in series, deliver a bell-like chime and jangle on their own and a punchy, humbucker-like output with gritty midrange bark when combined. The metal nut keeps that crisp, metallic attack intact across the board.
The neck is a comfortable, satin-finished maple with a dark rosewood fretboard, the frets in excellent shape throughout. Controls are dual-concentric volume and tone knobs, a signature '59 Modified touch. Being the "M" (Modified) version, it also swaps the vintage wraparound bridge for a modern adjustable die-cast bridge with individual chrome saddles, so intonation stays accurate string to string.
