The OD-1 was one of the first three Boss compact pedals ever produced . Its asymmetrical clipping delivers a thick, mid-focused overdrive with a distinctive edge, setting it apart from smoother Tube Screamer-style pedals . This early 1980s example uses the 8-pin 4558 chip, which provides the classic warm, natural breakup that responds to playing dynamics .
 
Power Note: This pedal uses the older Boss ACA power spec (12V DC unregulated) or runs on a standard 9V battery .
