What is the difference between Vintage and Pre-owned guitars?
At Guitar Garage Sydney, we categorise every instrument as either Vintage or Pre-owned.
Vintage instruments are at least 30 years old. Their wood has aged, which affects tone. They were built using construction methods and materials that are no longer common. They also tend to hold or increase in value.

Why buy vintage Japanese guitars?
Many collectors believe factories such as Fujigen, Terada Gakki and Dyna Gakki produced guitars that rivalled American equivalents. These instruments offer high build quality at a fraction of the price of comparable USA-made vintage pieces. Japanese Focus

Why buy vintage gear from Korea or Taiwan?
Korean and Taiwanese factories produced excellent gear in the 1980s and 1990s. Boss pedals made in Taiwan are reliable, durable and widely used by professionals.
Gretsch's Korean-made Electromatic and Historic series from the late 1990s to 2010s offer vintage-inspired quality at a lower price than Japanese or USA models. Epiphone and DeArmond also produced solid Korean guitars.

Why buy vintage USA guitars?
American-made guitars from Fender, Gibson, Martin and Gretsch are widely considered the benchmark for vintage instruments. USA guitars typically feature premium woods, hand-wound pickups on many models, nitrocellulose finishes and quality hardware. They tend to hold their value well. USA Collection

Do you sell new instruments?
Yes. We stock a full range of beginner and intermediate instruments, plus all accessories for musicians.

Can I have my guitar shipped to me?
Yes. We arrange shipping via courier anywhere in Australia. Most guitars cost $65 to ship. Contact us for a quote 0413 615 759

How much will it cost to repair my guitar?
A full service is generally $160. For an accurate quote, bring your guitar to our Sydney shop so we can assess what work is needed.

Do you sell accessories?
Yes. We stock strings, capos, tuners, gig bags, stands, straps, picks, cables and maintenance products.

Do you have rehearsal rooms and recording?
Yes. We have two fully equipped rehearsal rooms with drum kits, bass amps, guitar amps, microphones, mixers and PA. For bookings visit Talon Music
