1983 Morris R-50 - MIJ

A curious Morris dreadnought, model number R-50. After searching far and wide, we couldn’t find a single other with this model number. However, concluding the work being completed on this guitar we have been blown away by the playability and pure tone of this instrument. Its got serious character that we very rarely see.

This guitar features a solid spruce top with a nice wide grain present. X bracing. Rosewood back and sides. Nice green abalone binding within the cream body binding. Rosewood bridge. Mahogany neck with a “V” profile with a bound rosewood fretboard. Pearloid dot inlays. Original Morris branded tuners.

Fully setup in store. The playability on this Morris is superb, playing with a low action with no dead spots whatsoever. Tonally its very diverse with a very prominent lows whilst maintaining the sparkly top end clarity we are always on the hunt for in vintage guitars.

Overall in good condition. This guitar exhibits some cosmetic wear in the form of clouding and discolouration due to it being in a case for a long duration. This clouding is visible on the headstock and on the sides of the body. Some bumps are present to the back of the neck but are not inhibiting playability. Small nick to the bottom left of the top of the body.

This is a really, really good one.

Comes with a hard case.
