Hofner 500/1 Vintage '62 RI - 2002 - Germany

German made Hofner 500/1 Vintage '62 from 2002.
 
This Hofner has a distinctive acoustic thud and pluck, smooth and sweet sounding via the pair of 511B Staple pickups.
 
We have sold several of these through the years but tonally this is certainly the standout in both playability and in tone.
 
Electrics all functioning, with independent Volume controls for each pickup and Rhythm/Solo, Bass On/Off and Treble On/Off switches. 
 
With the removal of the scratch plate the screw hole is visable where it was mounted. The scratch and the heel plate has experienced some aging due to the degaussing of the material used, these chemicals become toxic and continue to degrade over time so we have removed them to prevent further issues however we have kept them and they are still available with the bass. 
 
All original parts with missing scratch plate in case.
