Greco TE500 Spacey Sounds Telecaster - MIJ - 1977 - Oxblood
Incredible Greco TE500 Spacey Sounds. Greco really got into their stride in the late 70s, and this is a guitar that really impressed us almost instantly from its tone and pure vibe. Upon investigation its been refinished to oxblood, indicated by the overspray gloss on the internals.
Made in the highly acclaimed Fujigen factory, this guitar features a sen ash body, maple neck with a “C” profile. Its super comfortable, the maple fretboards lacquer looks great. Its got a 7.25” radius, and 43mm nut width. Volume and Tone knobs have been replaced with identical counterparts. The jack socket has been replaced. Pearloid pickguard. Two Maxon WRHB’s date correctly to January 1977. The tone is incredible on this guitar, so much volume, thickness, and clarity.
Note: The pole pieces and covers appear to be replacements as well as the pickup covers. Also we did add the second string tree after the photos were taken.
We’re obsessed with this one. There’s a few of these around and they’re all in natural so if you’re pining for a different then this is an incredible pick.
Overall, in great condition. Frets look amazing, almost no fretware. Some minor discolouration on the fretboard and back of the neck. Very minor bucklerash on the back of the body. Some scuffs on the edges of the body.
