Yamaha SG-1820 - MIJ - 2017 - Brown Sunburst
This is a beautifully constructed, exceptional condition Yamaha SG1820. This updated take on a classic design features custom-shop spec hardware and craftsmanship and was developed using direct feedback from Yamaha’s Tokyo and London Artist Relations offices and Yamaha Artist Services Hollywood. All SG1820s are handmade in Yamaha’s YMC in Japan where it has also undergone an I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration) Treatment.
Featuring a fully-bound carved Maple cap, African Mahogany body and set-neck construction. The three-piece neck has a 13-3/4" radius rosewood fretboard and is adorned with SG arrow abalone inlays. The bound headstock features an abalone Yamaha inlay and a floral pearloid inlay.
Two Seymour Duncan 59 SH-1 Humbuckers provide warmth and natural gain that adds to the hot-vintage tone and feel of the SG1820. The Switchcraft three-way selector switch combined with the Noble Pots 2x Volume and 2x Tone pots allow for a variety of unique high-end tones. Grover locking tuners allow for quick string changes and combined with a Graph Tech TUSQ Nut provide excellent intonation.
Cosmetically this guitar is in almost immaculate condition. There are some very light blemishes on the back, and around where a strap has been used. The first five or so frets show some minimal wear, other than that there is virtually no fretware. This guitar has been professionally set up to play with an awesome low action.
Weight: 4.4kg. Very reasonable for an SG.
Comes in its original hard case with paperwork included.
At Guitar Garage our focus is to refurbish and restore all guitars to the highest standard. Low action and playability is important to us. Our philosophy is "A guitar that plays well, sells well".
