Yamaha SG 700 - 1978 - MIJ - Cherry Sunburst

Yamaha SG 700 - 1978 - MIJ - Cherry Sunburst

A beautiful Yamaha SG 700 made in Japan, 1978.

The SG 700, a sibling to the more renowned SG 2000, was designed to deliver outstanding playability and tonal versatility without compromising on quality.

Solid double cutaway mahogany body, maple top, set neck with rosewood fretboard adorned with split mother of pearl inlays.

Bound body, neck and headstock, aged beautifully and really adds to the aesthetic of the guitar.

Cherry sunburst finish still looks really amazing for its age.

Original hardware is in excellent condition, original factory pickups with push/push coil split on the tone knobs.

Great condition, a new graphite nut has been fitted, unfortunately no scratch plate.

One ding on the back of the neck at the 3rd fret position (bottom edge) as well as some scratching on the back of the body. Pretty general wear for a guitar of this age. See photos for details.

We have given this guitar a full setup and refurb as well as a full fret dress so now it plays and sounds great.

Weight: 4.7kgs.

Comes with hard case.

At Guitar Garage our focus is to refurbish and restore all guitars to the highest standard. Low action and playability is important to us. Our philosophy is "A guitar that plays well, sells well".
