Orville SG-65 - MIJ - 1994 - Alpine White
Named after Orville Gibson himself, Orville was managed by Gibson for the Japanese domestic market during the late 1980s and most of the 1990s. This is a phenomenal guitar, a testament to the incredible construction and consistency of Orville in this era.
Featuring a mahogany body, African mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays. Neck binding looks great with a creamy look. Nickel hardware. Tuners have been replaced with enclosed Grovers. Gotoh ABR-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Gotoh stopbar tailpiece, 5ply angel wing scratch plate.
Pickups have been upgraded to Gemini Mercury One Humbuckers; they bring the tones of this guitar to the next level. They’re loud, powerful, and awesome. Capacitors have been upgraded to Bumblebees. The guitar has had an excellent fret job and been re-fretted with jumbos. No wear whatsoever on the frets; the fretwork on display is just extraordinary.
Fully set up, this guitar plays incredibly with a buttery smooth, low action. Overall, it is in great condition. Stickers have been removed from the guitar everywhere except for one on the back of the body. There is some minor bucklerash on the back of the body. Minor cosmetic blemishes are around the body from playwear. Small mark at the neck joint on the left side. The electrics are all working as they should.
Comes with Orville gig-bag.
