Greco Early Sixties SE700T - MIJ - 1978 - Tobacco Burst
What a guitar. This is such an incredible player and an easy pick of the bunch.
Based on Fender’s 1960s Stratocasters and hailing from 1978, this vintage Greco will leave an impression as soon as you pick it up. Crafted in the esteemed Fujigen factory in Japan, this guitar has many years in it and still lots more to give.
Featuring a sen ash body, a comfortable maple neck with a great slim C profile. The fretboard on this guitar is stunning; it’s a much redder piece of rosewood than we usually see on the Japanese-made Stratocasters. It’s a great-sounding guitar; the Maxon pickups carry that awesome clucky Strat tone that we love.
In good condition overall, this guitar does exhibit signs of use. Most of the marks are present on the outer edges of the body and on the back; see pictures. Almost no fret-wear. A small nick on the edge of the fretboard at the 6th fret high E. Appears that the pickup covers have been replaced. No back plate.
It’s a rare moment that we get these Greco Strats in, but this one has certainly left a lasting reminder of how good the late 70s Greco’s were. Comes with gig bag.
