Godin Pre-Multiac - 1990s - Onyx Black

Godin Pre-Multiac - 1990s - Onyx Black

These rare guitars are renowned for being the predecessor to what would become the Multiac Model by Godin. Made in Canada, Godin has developed a fine reputation for exceptional build quality and playability from their Multiac line, and it shows in the pedigree of the artists that play these guitars, such as Hans Zimmer, Leonard Cohen, and Kirk Hammett. These are rare guitars, especially ones finished in Onyx Black.

Visually unique, at a glance it looks akin to a solid body, but it is in fact a chambered body with a solid cedar top. Mahogany neck with “D” profile, rosewood fretboard, and bridge.

The bridge has a piezo pickup under the saddle and there are these neat metal "tone tines" inside the body for extra resonance. Preamp is powered by two 9V batteries. Plugged in this sounds incredible, the EQ controls are all working as they should.

It feels excellent to play, the action is a lot more generous than a traditional classical and the upper fret access brings the performance capability to the next level.

In great condition overall. Frets are in great condition and have plenty of life left. This guitar has been played, as shown pickwear on face of the guitar as well as various dimples on the body. Minor bucklerash on the back. Thin mark on the bottom of the back of the body.

This an extraordinary piece, a clear winner and a super inspirational guitar.

Comes with its original hardshell case.

Weight: 2.94kgs.
