G&L Tribute Custom - S•500 - Japan Tribute Series - MIJ - 1995 - White
This G&L Tribute Custom S-500 is part of the Japan Tribute Series, which was a limited run made from 1990 - 2003 solely for the Japanese domestic market. This model is quite rare, especially outside of its country of origin.
The body is made from solid alder in a white gloss finish and matching headstock. The three-ply tortoise scratchplate houses three Fullerton USA-made single-coil pickups, 1x Volume pot, 2x Tone pots, and a mini toggle switch to activate both the neck and bridge pickups simultaneously.
The 4-bolt maple neck features a skunk stripe, a slender-medium C profile and a rosewood fretboard with white pearlescent inlays. The nut width measures 1-5/8”. Some very light fretware and the neck is a little dinged up.
G&L gold logo with Tribute Custom MIJ decal. Chrome Gotoh machine heads. Chrome bridge and hardware. The tremolo unit is a two-point tremolo with the original arm.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good condition. There are a few light dings and cracks in the paint here and there.
Weight: 3.8 kg.
This guitar has been professionally set up to play with a low action and minimal fret buzz.
This G&L S-500 Tribute Custom is outstanding in looks, playability and tone. Ideal for anyone looking for a great Japanese Strat without blowing the budget.
