The Yamaha L-5 is an early model from Yamaha's flagship Luxury Series, handcrafted in Japan between 1975 and 1978. This Yamaha L-5 features a solid spruce top with coral rosewood back and sides. The Yamaha L-5 has an African mahogany neck with a fat soft-V profile, and genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge. 25" scale length. Includes case.

 

The L-Series was introduced for the Japanese domestic market as Yamaha's premium acoustic line above the standard FG series. Early generation models built between 1975 and 1978 are identified by a white oval label and premium timber selections. The L-5 delivers a balanced vintage voice with strong midrange and clear top-end response.

Background

The Yamaha Luxury Series was introduced in the mid-1970s as a premium alternative to the FG line. The L-5 was built at Yamaha's Tenryu/Hamamatsu factory during the "golden era" of Japanese guitar craftsmanship. Early models feature a white oval label and premium timber selections. The L-series was produced solely for the Japanese domestic market until the mid-1980s.
