Fender Japan JB62 ’62 Reissue Jazz Bass 1993
1993 Fender Japan JB62 ’62 Reissue Jazz Bass (Vintage White)
Heaps of paint worn off, and all the right battle scars — this Jazz Bass is effortlessly cool. The 1993 MIJ JB62, has got that gritty, lived-in aesthetic that only comes from years of real playing, not relicing.
Like all good Fender Japan instruments, this one has feel in spades. Acoustically lively, plugged in it gives you that classic Jazz Bass snarl and warmth, with plenty of attitude when you dig in. It’s been professionally set up and plays great with an easy action.
This one outperforms most of the ones we have seen in this period.
Featuring a basswood body, maple U-profile neck, and rosewood board, it delivers a balanced acoustic response with classic Jazz Bass growl from the original single-coils.
The neck is classic MIJ: super comfortable, smooth in the hand, and just feels “right.” Everything works as it should — original tuners (hold pitch well), stock electronics, original hardware (light patina) — no surprises.
Cosmetically, this is where it shines. Lots of finish chipping over the top back & sides, natural wear, dings, rubbed edges, and a whole lot of character. The cream finish with the red tort guard is an absolute vibe. Neck finish is smooth with a tasteful amber tint.
A very cool, very played-in, very real MIJ ’62 Reissue. If you’ve got questions, just shout.
