1989 Fender Japan Stratocaster ST57-70 - Tobacco
1989 Fender Japan Vintage Collection 57’ Reissue Stratocaster, ST57-70. The incredible quality coming from Fender Japan in the 80s is just excellent and this guitar is no different, this guitar is an absolute winner. This particular Stratocaster additionally features factory-installed USA Fender pickups, a welcome upgrade from the standard Japanese single coils, which give it an incredibly rich and mellow tone.
Featuring an alder body with some very nice grain popping out through the tobacco finish. Maple neck with an “oval” profile, skunk stripe on the back of the neck. Maple fretboard with black dot inlays, vintage style frets that show almost no wear. The tuners have been replaced at some point in this guitars life to a set of Greco Deluxe vintage style tuning machines. Single ply white pickguard. The original back plate is missing but we can fit a new one if requested.
Factory USA made Fender pickups, 3-way pickup selector and CTS pots. Sounds superb and playing excellently. Professionally set-up with a nice, low easy action. Simply superb playability. Put it against any American made equivalent and we are confident it’ll knock it out of the park!
Overall in good condition for a guitar of this age. Some marks and chips on the bottom and sides of the body as shown in pictures. Minor bucklerash. This guitar has almost zero fret-wear. Neck is in great condition with no bumps along the back at all. Some scuffs and marks around the headstock.
