1970s Yamaki 170 - MIJ
1970s Japanese made Yamaki 170. Stunning guitar, you don’t have to look further then the body, Yamaki are known for their excellent selections of tonewoods and it shows! The grain on the solid spruce top is wide with the Brazilian rosewood back and sides speaking for themselves. Its just beautiful!
Featuring a nato neck with an easy neck profile. A really excellent fretboard, super dark rosewood bringing the trapezoid abalone inlays even further out. Its almost worth it just for these inlays, the greens, pinks and blues come out unlike any other guitar we currently have in store! The body, fretboard and headstock are all bound, the binding has become more creamy over the years but completely intact.
The tone is excellent, much in part thanks to the superb selection of tone woods that were chosen in its construction.
Overall in great condition for a guitar of its age. Signs of use are present on this guitar with the general scuffs, marks and signs of use. Some clouding around the body and headstock. String slots have been cut in the bridge. Some thin marks present on the back of the neck. Small blemish to the top to the left of the bridge. Small chip to the top of the headstock. Very minimal fret-wear. The chrome hardware is in great nick.
Even with these battle scars it doesn’t take anything away from how great this guitar sounds and feels. If you’ve been on the lookout for an excellent vintage piece with great playability and beautiful tone, this is a superb acoustic.
Comes with a hard case.
