This vintage Japanese Morris W-25 is 100% all original and is in fantastic condition for its age.
Morris's W (Western) Series was highly regarded as one of the best acoustic lines for the quality selection of woods used and the detailed craftsmanship of Japanese luthiers at the time.
Made in the late 70's - early 80s, the wood has aged nicely, giving this acoustic a great aesthetic and a unique tone.
With an abalone inlay adjacent the binding and also around the rosetta, it has a beautiful aesthetic.
Professionally set-up. Nice low, easy action, giving it superb overall playability.
Such a great vintage acoustic.
Weight: 2.4 kgs
The Laminate Top has aged nicely, giving it a golden honey hue. The binding around the top has an abalone inlay. Rosetta with abalone inlay. The Single ply black scratchplate is original and has moved slightly but is solid. Bound Rosewood back and sides. The soft V profile mahogany neck is bound and has a volute. Feels great to play. The fretboard and bridge are quite dark and appear to be ebony but not possible to confirm. Zero fretware. The headstock is bound and sports the original chrome machine heads with Morris stamps.
Beautiful tone. Rich and resonant with plenty of volume.
Cosmetically, its close to the excellent range. There are a few very light scratches on the back, a couple of small blemishes on the neck and some minor discolouration to the finish on its top near the underside as seen in photos. Nothing which affects any playability. 8/10 overall.
This Western Series Morris W-25 is a fantastic vintage acoustic and won't break the bank.
Comes in gig-bag.
